What is needed to quote a custom cast part?
CASTING TO ORDER
A drawing or a sample is enough to get started
The short answer: with a drawing or a sample of the part we can already start quoting. You don't need everything figured out —if you are not sure which steel to use, the CYM Materiales technical team advises on alloy selection based on the application.
For a precise estimate, three details help: the required material or standard (or, failing that, the application and service conditions, to define the alloy); the quantity of parts —key, because the pattern cost is spread across the volume—; and the finishing requirements (machining, heat treatment, painting) and quality requirements (certificates or testing).
If you don't have a drawing, a sample part is enough —even a worn one you need to replace—: from it we build the pattern and reproduce the part. CYM casts carbon, alloy, stainless, heat-resistant and abrasion-resistant steels, from 0.1 to 150 kg, and delivers the part finished and ready to install.
READY TO QUOTE
From the drawing to the finished part
The more complete the information, the tighter the estimate —but a drawing or a sample is enough to start. Our technical team analyzes each requirement and proposes the solution, from the alloy and the pattern to the final part.
