Bars and wire shot blasting machine

CYM Materiales offers complete solutions for the mechanical descaling of bars, wire and wire coils, covering both shot blasting and reverse bending descaling processes. The machines are designed for the steel industry, wire drawers and wire manufacturers that require the removal of mill scale and oxide from the steel surface without the use of acids or the generation of chemical effluents.

The COIL line processes wire coils by batch using centrifugal blast wheels that project abrasive onto the coil mounted on a rotating mandrel. The COIL4 and COIL5 models process coils of up to 3000 kg in cycles of 7 to 20 minutes depending on the steel type and wire diameter. The optional double loading door minimizes downtime between cycles.

The BAR line processes wire, bars and billets in continuous pass using centrifugal blast wheels with abrasive concentrator deflectors. It can process a single wire or multiple wires simultaneously, reaching speeds of up to 250 m/min. It is the recommended solution for integration into wire drawing lines and for the descaling of bars and billets prior to crack detection inspection.

WILCO reverse bending descaling machines, represented by CYM Materiales for Latin America, remove scale from wire rod in line with the wire drawing machine through controlled bending deformation, without the use of shot or chemicals. The three-pulley system produces a deformation of 8 to 10% on the wire rod, sufficient to detach the scale without hardening the steel.
