Single and double shot peening line for sucker rods
This video shows a CYM line for single and double shot peening of sucker rods, the rods that drive the pumps in oil wells. Shot peening increases the fatigue resistance of the rod, which works under cyclic stress throughout its service life.
The rods arrive on accumulation tables and enter the line on hourglass rollers that move and rotate them through the blast cabinet. The process is 100% automatic, with full control of the process variables.
Blast wheel speed is adjustable, the control cage position is set electronically to aim the blast, and abrasive flow is regulated and controlled with electronic valves. Abrasive cleaning adjusts itself, and a vibrating screen classifies the shot to keep the size the process requires. The dust collector monitors cartridge saturation.
An alarm system detects any process deviation. CYM builds shot blasting, shot peening, double shot peening and stress peening machines, with pressure nozzles or blast wheels depending on the part.
