LT 600 tumble belt shot blast machine with two 30 HP blast wheels for castings
This video shows a CYM LT 600 tumble belt shot blast machine with two 30 HP blast wheels, built for batch blasting of iron castings. It was filmed at our plant before shipment to Fundición Gatti, in Argentina.
Each load is 600 liters, up to 1,800 kg (about 4,000 lb). A hydraulic loader tips the full bin into the cabinet. The rubber belt, with steel slats and support rollers, tumbles the parts under the blast wheels so the abrasive reaches every face. At the end of the cycle the belt reverses and unloads the parts onto a vibrating conveyor, which separates the abrasive and returns it to the machine.
In a foundry, the key is keeping the abrasive clean: a magnetic separator removes the molding sand, the abrasive cleaning system works with airflow monitoring, and the abrasive curtain adjusts itself with a level sensor. The abrasive valves have electric actuators, and the whole machine is run from an HMI with a Siemens S7-1200 PLC. The dust collector cleans its cartridges automatically.
The video ends with a casting before and after blasting.
