PER 6x15 profile shot blast machine after ten years in service, with its original liner
This video shows a CYM PER 6x15 shot blast machine for profiles and welded structures, built in 2013, after ten years of continuous work at the Conformados Metálicos plant in Venado Tuerto, Argentina. It is a durability test: the machine is still in production with its original internal liner.
The PER 6x15 is a continuous roller conveyor machine with a maximum passage section of 0.6 m by 1.5 m (24 by 59 in). It has four 25 HP blast wheels and processes profiles, beams, pipes and welded structures at 1 m/min (3.3 ft/min). In these ten years it has blasted more than 25,000 tons of steel.
The low wear shown in the video comes from the way the machine is built: a triple-layer manganese steel cabinet, blast wheels with cast high-chrome steel housings above 64 HRC, and an abrasive recovery screw with hardened steel flights.
The video shows beams before and after blasting, the inside of the cabinet, the blast wheels and the control panel. Investing in build quality lowers operating cost over the whole life of the machine.
