Shot peening machine for internal and external pipe threads, 3" to 10"

This video shows a CYM shot peening machine for threaded pipe connections, treating both the external and the internal thread on pipes from 3" to 10" in diameter. Shot peening the thread improves its fatigue resistance, which is key for oil industry connections.

The pipe arrives on a positioning and rotation system that brings it to the cabinet and turns it during blasting. A nozzle mounted on a movement and positioning system first covers the external thread and then enters the pipe to treat the internal thread.

Air pressure and abrasive flow are monitored and controlled with MagnaValve valves, and the abrasive is recovered and cleaned by suction before going back into the process. Intensity is checked with Almen strips placed on a test pipe and measured with a digital gauge.

The machine includes its own electrical panel and a kit for manual blasting, used for special parts or touch-ups in the same cabinet.
