CH-1.5V vertical shot blasting and primer line for steel plates, four blast wheels
This video shows the CH-1.5V, a vertical shot blasting and painting line for continuous preparation of steel plates, built by Metalcym in Brazil. Plates up to 1.5 m (59 in) wide travel upright through the whole line, without changing position between one process and the next.
The blast machine has four blast wheels and runs steel shot or grit, in carbon or stainless steel. Processing speed ranges from 0.6 to 1.5 m/min (2 to 5 ft/min), and everything is run from an electrical panel with a touch screen. After blasting, the plate enters an automatic paint booth that applies the shop primer, so blasting and painting happen in a single flow with a uniform finish.
The dust collector is high-efficiency, and the line complies with the Brazilian machine safety and electrical installation standards NR-12 and NR-10. The vertical layout makes better use of floor space and makes plate handling easier.
It is designed for steel service centers, structural steel fabricators, shipbuilding, tank makers and any plant that needs to prepare plate continuously and protect it from corrosion before cutting and welding.
