TUB INT-AC internal pipe blasting machine with 6 lances

This video shows a CYM compressed-air internal pipe blasting machine, model TUB INT-AC with 6 lances, during the factory acceptance tests (FAT) at our plant. The machine was built for a Mexican manufacturer of seamless pipe for oil and gas, and it blasts six pipes in every cycle.

The loading system places the pipes on rotating carts that turn them. Two cabins close over the pipe ends so the abrasive stays inside the work area. Then a carriage with three blast pots, each feeding two lances, advances at controlled speed, and the 15 m (49 ft) lances travel through the inside of the pipes, blasting with side-discharge nozzles. While the pipes are changed, the carriage returns under the silo and refills the pots.

It handles pipes from 50 to 245 mm (2 to 9.6 in) in diameter and 6 to 15 m (20 to 49 ft) long, and each size has its own recipe on the screen, with feed speed, rotation speed, number of passes and margins at each end. The PLC checks the length of every pipe before processing it, and each lance has clogged-nozzle detection. The abrasive is aluminum oxide, which leaves no iron particles on chrome steel. The main dust collector has fire and explosion protection.
