Automatic blast room with CNC nozzle manipulators

This video shows a CYM blast room with automatic nozzle manipulators, designed for surface treatment of mining components with complex shapes. It combines localized compressed-air blasting with CNC nozzle positioning.

Parts enter the cabinet on a roller conveyor. Inside, reciprocators move the nozzles on the X-Z axes, and the system automatically controls their position and the blasting speed. Air pressure and abrasive flow are set from the HMI, with MagnaValve valves. The process is 100% automatic, with controlled quality and high repeatability, and reaches all six faces of the part.

The machine handles parts up to 900 mm (35 in) wide, 400 mm (16 in) high and 3,000 mm (118 in) long. On steels above 500 HB it achieves roughness above 75 µm, and on steels below 200 HB, above 150 µm.

The abrasive is recovered, cleaned and classified continuously, and the dust collection system keeps particulate emission below 1 mg/m³. Because the blast is aimed only at the part, equipment wear is minimal, and maintenance and operating costs are low.
