EST-TUN 10x20 overhead conveyor shot blast tunnel with twelve 10 HP blast wheels at Caimán
This video shows a CYM EST-TUN 10x20 shot blast tunnel with twelve 10 HP blast wheels and a continuous overhead conveyor, installed on the line of Caimán, an Argentine agricultural machinery maker. It blasts the frames, booms and welded structures of self-propelled sprayers before painting.
Parts hang from the overhead conveyor and pass through the cabinet without stopping the line. The 12 blast wheels throw the abrasive from different angles, covering complex welded structures with no blind spots. Abrasive valves regulate the flow to each wheel, and several rubber curtains keep the abrasive inside at the entry and exit. The cabinet has a double internal liner with high wear resistance.
The abrasive falls into a screw conveyor trough, rises in a bucket elevator and goes through an air wash separator before returning to the wheels. Blasting is automatic, high-output and needs no specialized labor.
As in this case, EST-TUN tunnels are installed in line with painting: the part leaves the blast machine and goes straight into the paint booth. The video ends with the finished sprayers. Building on this machine, CYM re-engineered the model, which is now built as the EST-TUN 13x23 with twelve 10 HP blast wheels.
